A message says your bank account or app will be blocked today unless you update KYC or PAN through a link.

How it works

A message threatens that your bank account or banking app will be blocked today for pending KYC or PAN.
The link opens a page that looks like your bank's, and asks for your customer ID, password, card details and the OTP.
With those, the scammer logs in as you and moves your money within minutes.

Your account is suspended. Complete e-KYC within 24 hrs to avoid closure: bit[.]ly/xxxx

Red flags

A deadline of today or 24 hours
A link in the message
A request for OTP, password or card details
A sender that is a mobile number, not the bank's sender name

Call 1930 at once: in the first hour the money can often still be frozen before it moves on. Then call your bank on the number printed on your card, and file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in with screenshots of every message and payment.

Aksar aisa hota hai: SMS aata hai "Dear customer, aapka bank account aaj raat band ho jayega, KYC update karein" aur saath mein ek link. Link kholne par bilkul bank jaisa page khulta hai, logo bhi wahi.

Wahan customer ID, password, phir card number aur OTP maanga jata hai. Jaise hi OTP daala, kuch hi minute mein account se paise nikal jaate hain, kabhi kabhi kai transactions mein.
