How these numbers are made
Each check adds one anonymous count: when it happened, the kind of scam, the language, how the message arrived and the state it came from, worked out from the network. The messages themselves are never stored. Numbers under three are hidden for states and names, so no one can be singled out. A message counts as looking like a scam when it scores 50 or more.
