Fake telecom regulator call: "your number will be disconnected"
A recorded call says your mobile number will be cut in two hours for illegal use, and routes you to fake officers.
Community reports: 0
How it works
- A recorded call claiming to be from the telecom regulator says your number will be disconnected in two hours.
- Pressing a key connects you to an "officer" who says your number or Aadhaar was used for illegal messages or crime.
- You are passed to fake police and pushed into paying fines or moving money, as in a digital arrest.

- A quick hand-over to police
- Fear and a short deadline
The one question to ask
