Credit card reward points expiring link
A message says your reward points worth thousands expire today, and the redemption link collects your card details and OTP.
Community reports: 0
How it works
- An SMS says your credit card reward points, worth a large rupee value, expire today.
- The link leads to a page that looks like your bank's rewards site and asks for card number, expiry, CVV and then the OTP.
- The OTP authorises a purchase or a transfer instead of a redemption.

Red flags
- Points "expiring today"
- Points converted to cash
- A link that is not the bank's own website
- A request for CVV and OTP
The one question to ask
Why would redeeming points need your CVV and an OTP?
