Free health check-up camp asking for card details
A free check-up at home or a camp asks for card details or an OTP to "register", and money is taken.
Community reports: 0
How it works
- A caller or visitor offers a free full-body check-up at home or at a camp in your colony, often for senior citizens or through a "hospital tie-up".
- To "register" or book a slot, they ask for your card details, a token payment of Rs 1 or Rs 10 through a link, or the OTP that comes on your phone.
- The details or OTP are used to take a much larger amount, and the check-up either never happens or is a quick, useless visit.
What it looks like

Namaste aunty, free health check-up for seniors at your home this Sunday. Just pay Rs 10 registration on this link to confirm the slot.
An OTP has come on your phone for registration. Please show it to me, it is only for the camp record. (said by the visitor)
Red flags
- A "free" check-up that needs card details
- Rs 1 or Rs 10 payment links
- OTP asked for "registration"
- A visitor who wants to see your phone
The one question to ask
Why would a free check-up need your card details or an OTP?
Already paid or shared details?
Call your bank on the number printed on your card to block the card and UPI at once, then call 1930 and file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in. If the person came to your home, also tell your local police and your housing society.
