FASTag or LPG KYC update
A message says your FASTag or gas connection will be blocked unless you update KYC through a link or a call.
Community reports: 0
How it works
- An SMS or call says your FASTag will be blocked or your gas connection cut today because your KYC is pending.
- It gives a link or a number to "update KYC", where you are asked for card details or an OTP, or told to install a support app.
- The details or the app let the scammer take money from your bank account or card.
What it looks like
Example messages. Numbers and links are masked.
Dear customer, your FASTag will be blacklisted tonight due to incomplete KYC. Update now: fastag-kyc-update[.]in
Your LPG connection will be disconnected today. Call our KYC officer immediately on 98XXXXXX10.
Red flags
- Service will stop "today" or "tonight"
- KYC link sent by SMS
- Asks for an OTP, card details or an app
- Helpline is an ordinary mobile number
The one question to ask
Will your gas agency or FASTag bank confirm this if you contact them yourself, without the link?
Already paid or shared details?
Switch off mobile data and Wi-Fi, uninstall any app they made you install, and call your bank on the number on your card to block cards and UPI. Change your banking and email passwords from a different phone. If any money has left, call 1930 at once.
