"Your account will be deleted for copyright violation"

A message posing as the platform says your account breaks copyright and must be verified through a link that steals your login.

Community reports: 0

How it works

  1. An email or message pretending to be from Instagram, Facebook or YouTube says your account broke copyright rules and will be deleted within 24 or 48 hours.
  2. It gives a link to "appeal" or "verify", which opens a page that looks just like the real login page.
  3. When you enter your password and login code, the scammer takes over the account, changes the email and phone, and may demand money to return it.
