Credit card limit increase or annual fee waiver call
A caller from the "bank" offers a higher limit or a fee waiver and asks for card details and the OTP to process it.
Community reports: 0
How it works
- A caller says he is from your bank's credit card department and offers a higher limit, a lifetime free card or a waiver of the annual fee.
- To "process" it, he asks you to confirm your card number, expiry date and CVV, or sends a link to fill them in.
- He then asks for the OTP that arrives on your phone, which is really for a payment, and money leaves your card.

The one question to ask
Why would your own bank need your CVV or OTP to give you something?
Already paid or shared details?
Call your bank on the number printed on the back of your card and block the card at once. Then call 1930 and file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in with the time of the call and the transaction details.
